Council’s Access Advisory Committee was formed in 2000. The committee’s purpose is to raise awareness about access issues to Council and the community and to improve access in the Shire.
Council also offers an attractive Access Incentive Grant Scheme which aims to -
Provide financial assistance to improve access to and within buildings,
Encourage the development of partnerships between local business, community organisations/ services, local government and the general public,
To encourage a greater awareness of access issues in the community.
Bland Shire Council, through its Access Committee, has developed an ACCESS MOBILITY MAP for West Wyalong's Main Street. Even more work has been carried out to improve access in the Main Street since the map was developed. Keep an eye on this page for a new map Coming Soon!
International Day of People with Disability
In December of every year the Access Committee celebrates International Day of People with Disability.
The committee is now busy planning community celebrations for later this year.
