Children's Services Expo

The popular Crocodile Encounters will be one of the many star attractions at the Bland Shire Children’s Services Expo on Saturday, October 19.

The Expo will be held in Barnado Park as part of the Sweden in the West celebrations and will feature lots of free and fun activities for children up to eight years of age.

Activities will include face painting, story times, temporary tattoos, jumping castles, children’s activities, an emergency services display, information stands and plenty more fun surprises.

Crocodile Encounters will offer kids and brave parents and carers the opportunity to meet real life crocodile “Doctor Crunch” and his reptile friends.

It is an educational, interactive and fun experience which attracted rave reviews when Crocodile Encounters last appeared at the Expo in 2011.

Crocodile Encounters is owned and run by Mark and Sue Richmond.

The show’s presenters have almost 80 years of combined experience and expertise, ensuring a fun, safe and educational experience of the highest quality.

Mr Richmond is a recognised expert on reptiles within Australia and a Fellow of the Zoological Society of London.

He has been senior keeper in the best reptile organisations in Australia including the Australian Reptile Park, Sydney Aquarium and the Cairns Tropical Zoo.

Various other stalls and displays will also operating at the Expo, spreading the word about the wide ranging and far reaching children’s services and facilities available in the Bland Shire.

Recent feedback received by Bland Shire Council indicates that people believe the Shire is a great place to raise a family.

Council makes an enormous annual commitment to children’s services throughout the Shire, offering a range of services which will be highlighted at the expo.

The expo opens at 10am and continues through until 2pm.
