Council to celebrate Youth Week

Sydney based Totem Skateboarding will hold a series of skate and scooter workshops in West Wyalong as part of Bland Shire Council’s Easter school holiday program.

Council has an exciting line-up of holiday activities planned to cater for young people from ages five to 25 years through it library, vacation care and youth programs.

Following the surge in popularity of the skate park, in particular among scooter riders, Council has engaged Totem Skateboarding to run a series of free workshops on Thursday 13 April.

The sessions will include demonstrations, instruction and open jam sessions with lots of giveaways on offer.

Riders will not be allowed to participate in the workshop without a completed registration and waiver form.

The workshop is sponsored by the Australian Alcohol and Drug Foundation.

Meanwhile, young people from six years and over will have the opportunity to try their hand at dartball, archery tag and sumo suits by visiting the newly refurbished West Wyalong Stadium on Wednesday 12 April.
