The NSW Electoral District Commissioners have released the proposed boundaries of the NSW Electoral Districts that will take effect at the next State Election to be held in March 2015.Under their proposal the electorate district of Murrumbidgee will be abolished and will be replaced by a new, larger electorate called Murray.
The new Murray district will contain the whole of the Local Government areas of Wentworth Shire, Balranald Shire, Hay Shire, Carrathool Shire, Griffith City, Leeton Shire, Murrumbidgee Shire, Conargo Shire, Deniliquin, Wakool, Berrigan and Murray Shires.
The western boundary of the former Burrinjuck Electorate, proposed to be renamed Cootamundra, will be extended to incorporate the local government areas of Bland, Junee, Coolamon and Narrandera, which are currently part of the Murrumbidgee Electorate. Public comment is invited up until July 17.
