Work to start on Ungarie Pool

Last modified: June 19, 2009 - 10:22 AM

Media Release 19 June 2009

The contract for the replacement of the Ungarie Pool was signed on Thursday 18 June by Cr Dot Smith (Acting Mayor) and the principal, Frank Sainsbury. A meeting was held at Bland Shire Council Chambers to finalise the proceedings which involves the replacement of the public swimming pool in Ungarie.

Council is pleased to inform the community that the work will commence on 6 July 2009 and will be due for completion by the end of August, 2009 (weather permitting). This project has come to fruition after tireless efforts from the Ungarie community and the receipt of funding from the NSW Department of Sport and Recreation, the Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program and the Bland Shire Council.  After two seasons without a local pool it is hoped that the community gain considerable benefit and pleasure from the reinstatement and improvements to the pool complex.
