Poppet Head- Community Opinion SoughtLast modified: August 28, 2009 - 3:32 PM
Media Release 26 August 2009 Bland Shire Council has extensively reviewed the poppet head structure situated in Cooinda Park and found it to be unsafe in its current state. The Poppet Head was erected as part of the Wyalong Centenary celebrations and was completed in 1995. Concerns as to the safety and structural adequacy of the structure have led to the poppet head being closed and locked for several years. Council commissioned a structural assessment of the poppet head by GHD in 2008. A copy of the report can be located on Council's website. As a result of the report, Council has put forward several options for consideration regarding this structure and is seeking community input as to the future of the poppet head. Extensive research into the current state of the poppet head has assisted Council in forming the following options;
Forms containing the above options are available from Council's Offices, Council's website and Council's display at the West Wyalong show on 2 September. All completed forms are to be returned to Council by Friday the 2 October. Bland Shire Council values all feedback Contact details |
