Council Property Stolen

Media Release 15 May 2008

Bland Shire Council is urging all Main Street businesses and residents to bring in their wheelie rubbish bins as soon as possible following collection, after a spate of missing bins have been reported to council.

Bland Shire Council is required to meet the costs of replacement bins, at the price of $250 each.

"It is disappointing that these rubbish bins have gone missing, not only is it a huge inconvenience to the bin owner, but it also impacts on our budget and indeed ratepayers money," said Merv Penny, Acting Director of Engineering Services.

If anyone has any information on the location of the missing bins, please contact Bland Shire Council, or the local police. Missing bins should also be reported to Council so that an alternative bin can be provided.
