Through its Development Services Department, Council ensures the local community's public health and well being is maintained in many ways.

This includes inspecting and regulating:

  • Food premises
  • Skin penetration premises
  • Hair & beauty salons
  • Public swimming pools
  • Cooling towers
  • Mortuaries & funeral parlours
  • On site sewerage systems
  • Public bathrooms
  • Unhealthy premises

Complaints about these activities as well as vermin infestation and unhealthy premises are also addressed.
