Through its Development Services Department, Council ensures the local community's public health and well being is maintained in many ways.

This includes inspecting and regulating:

Food premises
Skin penetration premises
Hair & beauty salons
Public swimming pools
Cooling towers
Mortuaries & funeral parlours
On site sewerage systems
Public bathrooms
Unhealthy premises

Complaints about these activities as well as vermin infestation and unhealthy premises are also addressed.
