West Wyalong and the Bland Shire is located on the northern fringes of the Riverina, NSW.  Other communities within the Bland Shire include Barmedman, Tallimba, Ungarie, Weethalle, Wyalong, Kikoira, Naradhan and Mirrool.

Key Industries

Today Bland Shire is a blossoming rural economy built around sheep, cattle, wheat and other crop varieties.  In recent times, West Wyalong has also experienced significant developments away from agriculture.  Barrick Australia has recently developed the $220 million Cowal Gold Mine; Pace Farm's development is the largest egg producing facility in the southern hemisphere and a new AWB grain handling facility is improving levels of efficiency for local grain growers.

Retail and hospitality operations, local government and health and community services are also all key employment industries within the Bland Shire.

We are currently in a period of exciting economic growth and development, actively supported by the local Council with new business investments and employment opportunities announced regularly.
