Dividing Fences
A dividing fence is a fence that separates land of adjoining owners Information on issues associated with Dividing Fences can be found at the Department of Lands website. Council is not involved in settling disputes regarding dividing fences, however the Department of Lands website provides some options for customers to consider. In some instances a Development Application may be required for the installation of a dividing fence. Please refer to Section 3 of Council's Development Control Plan 1999 - Exempt Development, to determine whether your fence is exempt from the need to obtain development consent.
