Tourism in Bland Shire
Located on the crossroads of the Newell and Mid Western Highways, West Wyalong offers excellent services for the traveller - so why not break your journey here and explore some of the features of the region.
In town you can walk the 'crooked mile' of our unique main street, originally a bullock track woven around gold diggings and old tree stumps. Also visit the True Blue Mining Poppet Head, Beckett's Pioneer Farm, the Aboriginal Artifacts Shop, the Historical Museum and the award winning Green Corridor walking track.
West Wyalong is centrally located allowing for many interesting day trips. Enjoy our historical villages of Tallimba, Weethalle, Barmedman, Ungarie and Mirrool, each offering a special experience in the bush. To the east are the Weddin Mountains, once a hideaway for bushrangers, today offering fabulous views of the region. To the west, is the Griffith wine district, Cocoparra National Park and the water playground, Lake Cargelligo.
