Active Transport Plan
Bland Shire Council Active Transport Plan
To guide our ongoing investment in the pedestrian and cycling network in West Wyalong, Wyalong, Ungarie, Tallimba, Weethalle and Barmedman, Bland Shire Council is preparing an Active Transport Plan. This plan will guide Council upgrades and investments to best reflect the needs of the community in terms of pedestrian and cycling infrastructure over the next 10 years. Please note that all mobility aids (including mobility scooters, wheelchairs, service animals etc.) are included in the term pedestrians.
It is important that this plan is guided by feedback from anyone who uses, or would like to use, the paths and crossings throughout the Bland Shire Local Government Area.
We are interested in gaining your insights and ideas about pedestrian / bike paths and facilities, and whether there are any opportunities that would encourage you to walk / cycle more often. This includes any issues or challenges you may currently experience and whether you have any vision for the future of the area.
We would like your input to inform where we can:
- Provide new paths, crossings or on-road cycle lanes
- Improve your safety (e.g. visibility, separation from cars,)
- Improve accessibility for everyone (e.g. access for prams, mobility scooters etc)
- Improve your comfort (e.g. shade, seating, water fountains).
Community consultation for this plan has now closed. The next stage of this process is to develop a plan that is in line with the information that was received.
