Men’s health is a growing issue, particularly in rural areas like ours.
o Rural men are the highest-risk category to suffer from serious health conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke and depression.
o Each year 41,000 men die from health conditions that are potentially preventable.
o Rural men are 22% less likely to possess an adequate level of health literacy
o The Men's Health Education Rural Van aims to address this important community issue.
Free health checks will be available from 9.30am until 3.30pm with no appointment necessary.
There will be a free sausage sizzle at 11am followed by a screening of the movie "The Duke" at 12.30pm and a trivia night from 6pm.
