Following the stunning success of the inaugural open art gallery, Bland Shire Council is calling for expressions of interest from artists to be part of an exciting new public exhibition.

Council has transformed its upstairs foyer into an open art gallery to showcase the work of local and regional artists seven days a week.

The inaugural exhibition, which is now in its final days, has been viewed by large numbers of locals and visitors with two paintings already sold to eager buyers.

The new exhibition is a further opportunity for artists to display and sell their work.

Artists are invited to submit artworks no smaller than A4 size and no larger than 600mm (height) by 1000mm and either framed or on stretch canvas ready for hanging. Expression of interest forms and more information is available by phoning 6972 2266 or calling in to Council’s Shire Street offices.

The selected artworks will be hung on Monday 5 July with artists welcome to be present with the official opening to take place on Tuesday 6 July at 5pm.

Expressions of interest to be part of the Bland Shire Open Art Gallery close on Monday 28 June 2021.

In a further effort to assist the local arts community, exhibited items can be listed for sale through the exhibition at a price set by the artist and released to the buyer at the conclusion of each exhibition or by special request.

The open art gallery will provide public access seven days a week during the normal operating hours of the Bland Shire Offices and accessed via the staircase in the Council foyer or via the lift in the foyer.
