Bland Shire Council has joined forces with surrounding Riverina communities to encourage city dwellers to consider a move to the bush.

Bland is the latest Riverina Council to join Regional Development Australia Riverina’s Country Change program which actively promotes the benefits and opportunities of relocating from the city to communities like West Wyalong.

With a number of success stories already, the Country Change program highlights the various lifestyle benefits and job opportunities associated with a tree change.

Bland Shire Council General Manager, Ray Smith, said membership of the program will help highlight the many benefits and opportunities on offer in the Bland Shire.

"The Bland Shire provides an authentic rural lifestyle with the conveniences of the city well within reach," Mr Smith said

"Our community has so much to offer people of all ages whether it be professionals, people starting out or seeking new job opportunities, families, retirees and anybody and everybody in between."

As part of Council’s membership, Bland Shire businesses and job seekers can now access the Jobs Riverina website.

Jobs Riverina is a one-stop-portal for employment in the Riverina region which can help local businesses to find the staff they need to grow their business as well as attract new business to the region.

It is also a vital resource for job seekers who can quickly and easily find jobs in the local area. By becoming a member for free people can also receive specific job alerts and create and/or upload their resume to allow them to apply for jobs from any mobile device anywhere and at anytime.
