The latest stunning exhibition of local artwork will be officially opened in West Wyalong next week.

Members of the community are invited and encouraged to attend the official opening of the Bland Shire Foyer Art Gallery exhibition at the Council Chambers at 5.30pm on Tuesday 28 June.

Launched in March 2021, the Foyer Art Gallery provides local and regional artists with a platform to showcase their talent to locals and visitors while also providing a splash of colour and creativity to Council’s foyer.

The inaugural exhibition featured 16 paintings from five artists of which three paintings were subsequently sold from two individual artists.

The following exhibition invited submissions from local artists and youth and resulted in an impressive 30 paintings hung. The exhibition was extended due to the impact of Covid-19 restrictions and two paintings were sold.

The next Foyer Art Gallery opening was held in February 2022 which included paintings from all local artists and paintings from the Paint and Sip nights at Top Town Tavern.  The exhibition featured a staggering 40 paintings from 11 artists of which six were sold.

The new exhibition features more stunning and diverse local artwork and members of the public will get the opportunity to meet the talented artists, ask questions and get first option on some of the works by attending the official opening on Tuesday.

The open art gallery is accessible to the public seven days a week during the normal operating hours of the Bland Shire Visitor Information Centre and can be accessed via the staircase in the Council foyer or via the lift in the foyer.
