RDA seeks nominations for local committee chairperson
Published on 12 November 2020
Applications are now open for Chair positions for 46 Regional Development Australia (RDAs) Committees across Australia.
RDAs are a highly valued and respected network of volunteers and staff who drive economic development in our regions and provide critical intelligence back to the Australian Government about the key issues impacting local communities.
From 2021, RDA Chairs will lead their Committees under a refreshed Charter that focuses their role on driving investment and local procurement opportunities and through this, creating jobs and economic growth for our regions.
The Government says its commitment to regions will be further enhanced by redirecting the role of metropolitan RDAs in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth to focus on working with regional RDAs in their state to identify and connect regions with economic development opportunities coming out of the capital cities.
Now more than ever, regional Australia requires local leaders with the skills and knowledge to develop and coordinate strategies to address challenges facing their region and create opportunities for growth.
If you want to advocate for your region, and have the vision, drive and enthusiasm to lead and influence others, you are encouraged to apply to be the Chair of your local RDA.
Appointment terms will commence on 1 January 2021. Roles are available in all jurisdictions except Victoria.

Women, people from Indigenous and diverse cultural backgrounds and people with disability are encouraged to apply.
You can also contact the RDA team via phone on 1800 505 938 (Mon–Fri 9am–5pm AEST) or email at email@example.com.
Applications close on 23 November 2020.
