Today is a sad day for our Shire, our State and Australia with the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Queen Elizabeth II will be remembered as a stoic, well respected and stabilising influence during periods of significant change and challenges throughout her 70 year reign.
As a mark of respect, the Australian flag will fly at half mast at Bland Shire Council until further notice.
I am also pleased to announce that, with funding from the Australian Government, Council will plant a row of trees in honour of Queen Elizabeth in the near future with more details available soon.
