Bland Shire Community Funding Program

Bland Shire Council has endorsed a funding framework designed to strengthen local organisations, support community-led initiatives and encourage inclusive activities across the Shire. The Bland Shire Community Funding Program brings together three key funding streams, offering greater certainty, consistency and transparency for groups seeking Council support.

The program aims to empower local organisations, enhance community wellbeing and ensure funding is distributed fairly across a wide range of needs and initiatives.

Strengthening Community Fund

  • Total pool: $30,000 in FY26

  • Maximum grant: $5,000

  • Rounds: Offered twice per year

  • Purpose: Supports community-driven programs and initiatives that help build capacity, participation and local engagement.

  • Applications close: End of January

Wyalong Community Benefit Fund

  • Annual funding of $30,000 for nine years from the Wyalong Solar Farm, supporting projects that benefit local communities.
  • Applications close: End of January

Community Activity Grant

  • Total pool: $20,000 in FY26

  • Maximum grant: $10,000

  • Rounds: Offered once per year

  • Purpose: Supports events, activities and projects that build social connection, improve liveability or contribute to positive environmental outcomes.

  • Applications close: End of February

Community Support Donations

  • Funding: Set annually through Council’s budget process

  • Purpose: Designed for organisations that require small but ongoing financial assistance

  • Availability: Funding is accessible across the full term of the current Council

  • Applications close: End of February

By streamlining funding opportunities and providing a clear framework, Council aims to make it easier for organisations to access support and continue delivering valuable activities across the Shire.
