Plan your Community Event
Planning a Community Event in Bland Shire? We're Here to Help!
The Bland Shire is lucky to have such a vibrant, community-minded spirit and there’s nothing better than seeing that come to life through local events like markets, festivals, fun runs, and street parades. Whether you’re hosting something small or planning a larger celebration, Bland Shire Council is here to support you every step of the way.
To help your event run smoothly and safely, there are a few important things to consider and some key approvals you may need before getting started.
Council requires the Special Event Management Form completed to guide organisers through the planning process which you can download here(PDF, 133KB).
If your event impacts a public road in any way, such as needing a road closure, traffic diversion, or using part of a road, you will also need to refer to the NSW Guide to Traffic and Transport Management for Special Events and work closely with Council to prepare a Transport Management Plan (TMP). This part of the process requires at least 90 days’ notice, as Council may need to consult with Transport for NSW.

Unapproved events can lead to delays or serious consequences, so it’s worth getting everything in place early.
