Wiradjuri Country & Culture
The Wiradjuri people, “people of the three rivers,” have deep cultural ties to the region. Sites like Manna Mountain (70 km NE of West Wyalong) are sacred and offer walking tracks and picnic areas. Wyalong derives from the Wiradjuri word “Waaylang,” meaning hard-shelled nut.
Visit the Aboriginal Land Council & Artefact Shop (Shop 76, Main Street, West Wyalong) to explore artefacts and book tours of Manna Mountain.
