The Big Football

Australia's biggest Football was unveiled in March 2018 in the Bland Shire village of Ungarie.

Weethalle Silo Art Project

The Weethalle Silo Art Project was the first silo art mural to be completed in NSW with Melbourne based artist Heesco installing the work in June 2017.

Ungarie War History Mural and Globe

Big Bland Bull 3D Mural

Zest International artist Zac Craig painted the Bland Bull mural on the Splatter Gallery wall in Main Street, West Wyalong in October 2019.

Horsing Around at Mirrool

Zest International artist Anton Pulvirenti created the "Horsing Around" mural in Mirrool in 2019.

Bland Dull and Boring Sign

In 2012, the towns of Boring in Oregon, US, and Dull in Scotland teamed up to form 'a pair for the ages'. Bland was accepted into the alliance in 2013 and the League of Extraordinary Communities was formed.

Replica Poppet Head

An authentic replica of a gold mining poppet head and miners hut located in bushland setting with a picnic area, public toilets and lovely bushwalks at Cooinda Park in Wyalong.

Wyalong Heritage Walk

Gold was discovered by the Neeld brothers in 1893, when they were fencing on a selection for their brother George, over what is now the Wyalong township.

Douglas D3 Dakota Plane

Built in 1943 in Oklahoma City, the plane was donated to the West Wyalong Lions Club who made it a striking feature in Lions Park, West Wyalong.

The Lake Cowal Conservation Centre (LCCC) is a community educational facility where school students, land managers and community members can learn about and experience a variety of issues associated with natural resource management.

Ungarie Heritage Walk

Weethalle Whistlestop

The Whistlestop is a delightful old renovated railway station building and carriage located in the Bland Shire village of Weethalle, on the Mid Western Highway, approximately 30 minutes drive from West Wyalong.

Splatter Art Gallery

Splatter Gallery and Cafe combines an art and photographic gallery located in the main street of West Wyalong. Splatter also specialises in custom picture framing from artworks and photographs.

Exclusive Hot Glass

Exclusive Hot Glass specialises in creating one of a kind hand-made glass art pieces, including plates, platters, bowls, vases and jewellery.

Gold Trails

Situated at the intersection of the Newell and Mid Western highways, West Wyalong rose from the plains following the discovery of gold in 1893.

HOPE sign

The giant sized HOPE Sign shines brightly in West Wyalong's McCann Park as a beacon of hope for all. People are encouraged to place a lock on the sign containing what they hope for.

Holland Park Pool

Located in Kurrajong Street, West Wyalong, this charming outdoor facility has something for the whole family to do over the pool season.

Tivoli Theatre West Wyalong

The new Tivoli Theatre will bring to life an iconic name that has been part of West Wyalong since the early 1900's.
The Tivoli will be an 85 seat community cinema and theatre, developed as a refurbishment of the historic masonic hall (circa 1923).

Mirri Ngurang Dog Park

The Bland Shire's latest tourism and cultural attraction, Mirri Ngurang Dog Park was officially opened in 2021.

Yindyamarra Display

The stunning collection stands permanently at The Wetlands and features a number of significant indigenous artefacts and symbols which were all painted by local artists.

Liebherr Bucket

The Liebherr 994B Excavator Bucket was donated to Bland Shire Council by Evolution Mining’s Cowal Gold Operation in 2020, as a permanent reminder of the mines contribution to the people of the Bland Shire.

The Old Eucalyptus Distillery

The Eucalyptus Distillery is a new addition to Cooinda Reserve, donated by GR Davis PTY LTD in 2021, The Davis family has farmed and cultivated Blue Mallee Eucalyptus Oil in West Wyalong since 1964.

Bland Shire Open Art Gallery

Bland shire Council has transformed its upstairs foyer into an open art gallery for local and regional artists to showcase their work seven days a week.

Biking the Bland

The Bland Shire is a cyclist’s dream come true. If you are a Gravel-Grinder or Bike-Packer, then you’ll love the Bland; it is a must-visit place to put at the top of your adventure list. If you’re a Roadie, come too, it’s still good and there are plenty of quiet roads on offer.
