West Wyalong and surrounds is competitively placed to establish or grow business. Council works together with business to develop and strengthen collaborative partnerships.

The area boasts well developed telecommunications infrastructure including NBN fixed wireless broadband, natural gas, strong electricity supply and good water supply. West Wyalong is located on the cross-roads of the Newell and Midwestern Highways and Goldfields Way, offering excellent regional and interstate connections, as well as potential business from passing traffic.

The Bland Shire’s heritage is deeply engrained in agriculture and gold production which continues through to today; recognised as one of the most productive agricultural areas in the State with cereals and sheep being the major producers. The agricultural sector is diverse, spanning cereal, poultry and livestock, while the mining sector brings opportunities for economic growth.  Other key sectors include:
